Every data window in DM2003 has a plot viewer and can display unlimited number of "series" (curves). To display worksheet data, each "series" has a reference to the associated worksheet (by default, all preconfigured series associated with the worksheet of the same window). However, any data window may be referenced, hence, one plot can display data from several different worksheets. When user closes data window, all references to this window are cleared, and appropriate series become empty and not displayed.
Since plot series have a lot of properties and graphs may be very complex, DM2003 includes convenient tool - Series Manager window. It displays various series properties for the plot of the active data window, but unlike simple plot legend, it supports a lot of operations available from standard toolbar or context menu.
Series Manager window includes following elements (see picture above):
Using context menu (or toolbar buttons), you may edit, add, delete, reorder and clear individual series objects. Some of these commands also are available in the View and Edit submenus of the main menu. Notice: when series object is copied to the clipboard, you may not only paste it into the selected item in the series list, but also into the current series of the plot of any data window (however, you can't copy series between different instances of DM2003!). If you select "Paste Data" command from the context menu, only data range of the selected series will be changed. Another convenient feature is drag-and-drop operations between Series Manager and Plot viewers of data windows. Drag series from the data window onto the Series Manager (or drag series within Series Manager) to rearrange series. When you drag series from the Series Manager onto the data window, new series object will be added to the drop target.
Series Manager window may be floating or docked into DM2003 main window. When floating, it has its own toolbar; otherwise it is invisible and uses toolbar (and status line) of the main window instead. For example, when Series Manager has input focus, editing commands from the main menu will act on the selected series object.
